Some say that the N8 battery is impossible to remove while they also recommend that you shouldn’t remove it. Let me tell you that the following journey involves the removal of the battery. It was not impossible to remove the battery but it was slightly hard to delete it from the device.

I’ll guide you through the steps but the warranty may be void and the handset may be damaged. I cannot be responsible for any problems.

The first important thing that you need after the device is that the special screwdriver which all the mobile technicians/repairers should be equipped with. I for one, do have to keep all the special screwdrivers as I often have to open the devices that I receive to review them.

On the bottom sides of the device, there are two screws that need to be removed by twisting them each 7 times.

Then, slowly remove the bottom cover, be careful not to damage the sides of it as it will come in handy to put it back.

When the piece is out, you should notice the battery lock. Lift the lock up so its up right on the right hand side and gently remove it.

You should see a piece plastic in the motherboard, hold that and pull it back. The original BL-4D Nokia battery has been removed.

To put it back, insert the battery then the battery clip. Put the bottom piece of the housing removed earlier on carefully. Screw the screws in. The device is as good as normal!

This removal was easy to do and my screwdriver has been used a bit to much as I had to apply unusual amount of force.
