Nokia abandons again, WebTV issues more problems
Nokia today abandoned ship at the Vodaworld at Midrand, South Africa where they claimed much but some of them turn out to be useless facts. Midrand was full because people were invited to receive a free E7 and then a raffle to win the E7, there was much chaos. Check out what was happening, this abandonment is in comparison to the abandonment of the issue of WebTV on the Nokia N8 not updating after re-installment.
The issue with WebTV is that the widget says update available, goes through the valid steps according to Nokia but then ends up with an empty rectangle which opens a black page. Unfortunately, the Ovi Store has no widget to replace the previous version. There is a solution, but yet again, it isn’t official like the VPN client.
You first download the file onto your PC, then preferably connect the N8 via USB, drop in somewhere easy to access, it will then self install like other SIS files.
There have been more problems with this method therefore it isn’t recommended at all. Some users are complaining that the widget is back but the videos end up in a blank black display.
Nokia or any-other Nokia support personal has not solved this since the 27th March 2011, in my opinion, this leaves more customers to doubt that Nokia cares.
