The new Nokia N8 has HDMI capability and it is one of its numerous USPs. Today, there is a surge of High Definition LCD television sets and 50% homes have HD television sets. Earlier HD was limited to Dish TV Broadcasts, DVD Players and Media Players. Nokia saw this opportunity and brought the HDMI capability inside a mobile phone in the form of Nokia N8. Nokia N8 is not only capable of recording HD video but also broadcast the HD video signals via the inbuilt mini HDMI port.

HDMI gives you a theater like picture quality and an uncompressed 7.1 surround sound through a single cable. Nokia N8 comes with a  Nokia Adapter Cable for HDMI CA-156 which connects the mini HDMI port to a standard HDMI cable and then to the HD TV. You get to see your mobile screen on a huge television screen that too in HD resolution. Any and everything that you do or see on your mobile phone screen gets reflected on your HD TV. One of the important facts to be remembered is that Nokia N8 does not support full HD (1080p) and only supports semi HD (720p). However, this would not make a difference even if you have a full HD TV, you still use your Nokia N8 to play movies in semi HD on your full HD TV.
