3rd August 2010, N8 Developer Launch event takes place at London and a new Ovi Store client written in Qt was showcased. This is indeed a great news that the new Qt platform is finally taking a serious shape in terms of major applications being written now. Qt is basically a cross-platform application development framework on the same lines as of J2ME. Qt was originally developed by a company called TrollTech which was later acquired by Nokia.

The new Ovi Store is faster and much improved and utilizes all the benefits of the new framework. It tries to follow the single tap feature of Symbian^3 which is one of its differentiating factors from the older Symbian. The overall the functional design of the client remains the same with similar features however we will see a better and a pleasant GUI with Nokia N8.
