Poll Closed: Windows 7 to substitute Symbian^3 OS
I recently held a poll where you could vote whether you prefer Symbian^ 3 or Windows 7 on the N8 and I even got Android as an answer. It is possible to transport Android on to the N8 but it will just make the device slower.
Have a look at the poll held last week below.
As you can see, there was a choice where you could input your own OS and unfortunately Android lost as it only received 1 vote to it. Symbian^3 for one, the original pre-installed software of the Nokia N8 has won with 27 votes to it! I offered an option for Windows 7 as it has been officially available to the users out there. It has received 25 votes, 2 less than what Symbian^3 has received. Its quite sad as I was expecting Windows 7 to win this round.
One of the major and the most disturbing bugs with the Windows 7 on the N8, is that the battery meter goes crazy. From a full meter to has a bar of battery? Windows 7 really needs to fix its OS before dishing it out any further. Symbian^3 OS for one, was slow but didn’t have such problems.
The multi-tasking with the N8 is also dishing out problems, it either doesn’t work or there is multi-tasking but it doesn’t come up. What does Windows have against the amazing Symbian63 and the Nokia N8?
Windows is new and lets give it a chance till the first software update comes up, you never know, the update might just never come as the deal was then told to have Windows updates only available after September.
Have a look at PR 2.2 tomorrow before you decide that you’re going to have Windows 7 on your N8 handset!
